French Tobacco is a singer-songwriter who taught himself to play the guitar and decided to learn the ropes on-the-job in England. Driving his van from pub to pub, French Tobacco accepted a hot meal and a place to rest his head in exchange for a few songs, creating a Folk-Rock sound with his guitar and leaving each place on a high, having left behind a crowd of pleased punters.

With his Scandinavian, Russian, and British roots, he is said to be inspired as much by Clint Eastwood’s stare, as by Jeff Buckley’s poetry, or even by the humor of Neil Patrick Harris. From his parents, great travelers and art enthusiasts in their own right, he inherited a yearning for far off places. And you can feel it in his songs, adventure calls to him.

But it wasn’t until two years later upon his return to Paris, that he found what would become his most loyal partner – and on Craigslist of all places. Something that will never leave him and that will radically modify the way he plays on stage… His suitcase. Cleverly customized as a small percussion kit with a drum skin and a tambourine, the secondhand suitcase, that could never have imagined finishing its life on stage, became his unique trademark and gave the artist the freedom he was looking for.

From now on, from French Tobacco, is a man, his guitar and his suitcase.
